On Saturday, October 26, 2567, at 12:50 PM Singapore Standard Time, Phra Sri Winyaphon, Deputy Abbot of Wat Awutwikasitaram and Vice-Rector for Sangha Affairs at Mahamakut Buddhist University (MBU), along with Phra Maha Surasak Paccantaseno, Deputy Abbot of Wat Rajsitharam and Vice-Rector for Foreign Affairs at Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University (MCU), arrived safely in Singapore to fulfill their religious mission. Both dignitaries, who are former leaders of the Thai Monastic Students\u2019 Group at Delhi University, were warmly welcomed.<\/p>\n

They were invited by Phra Panyadhamma Vites, Secretary-General of the Thai Sangha Council in Singapore and Deputy Abbot of Wat Anan Mettyaram. Phra Panyadhamma Vites, himself a former leader of the Thai Monastic Students\u2019 Group at Delhi University, has requested the two Vice-Rectors to conduct a consecration ceremony for the newly restored ordination hall at Wat Anan Mettyaram. The ceremony will also include a merit-making dedication to his parents on the anniversary of their passing, scheduled for October 27-28, 2567.<\/p>\n

Vice-Rector Phra Maha Surasak Paccantasesno has also been invited by Most Venerable Dr. Hui Siong, President of the Indonesian Buddhist Center Association and leader of the World Buddhist Sangha Council, to deliver a Dhamma lecture in English at Beeh Low See Temple.<\/p>\n

As part of the visit, Vice-Rector Phra Maha Surasak Paccantaseno is scheduled to meet with Phra Thep Sitthi Vites, President of the Thai Sangha Council in Singapore and Abbot of Wat Anan Mettyaram. They will discuss training initiatives, including the 31st Dhamma Missionary Training Program for monks, as well as new programs for lay Dhamma practitioners both in Thailand and abroad.<\/p>\n

Following these discussions, Vice-Rector Phra Maha Surasak Paccantaseno will pay respects to Most Venerable Shi Fa Zhao, Abbot of Wat Suwannachedi and the Supreme Buddhist Leader of Singapore, and Most Venerable Shi Ming Yi, Abbot of Foo Hai Ch\u2019an Monastery. These meetings aim to strengthen the long-standing ties between MCU and the Mahayana Sangha of Singapore, fostering closer interfaith relations and cooperation for years to come.<\/p>\n
