On Monday, January 6, 2025, at 1:09 PM, Venerable Phramaha Surasak Paccantaseno, Vice-Rector for Foreign Affairs and Acting Director of the Bharat Studies Center, Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University (MCU), led the delegation comprising Venerable Master Jian Hui, Abbot of Chung Tai Chan Monastery, Bangkok, along with executives from Dhammaduta College, the ASEAN Studies Center, the International Relations Division, and the management team of Chung Tai Chan Monastery, to pay homage to His Holiness Samdach Preah Brahmaratanamuni Pin-Sem Siresuvanno, Supreme Advisor of the Board of the Sangha Committee and Theravada Sangha House member of Cambodian Buddhism, at Wat Pho, Siem Reap, Cambodia.<\/div>\n

On this occasion, His Holiness Samdach Preah Brahmaratanamuni graciously extended his hospitality and introduced the Chief Monks of Siem Reap Province, district monks, and senior clergy. His Holiness expressed his gratitude to the Vice-Rector for Foreign Affairs for honoring the visit, which serves to strengthen the bond of friendship between the Cambodian Sangha and MCU.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

In return, Venerable Phramaha Surasak Paccantaseno offered his heartfelt thanks to His Holiness for the warm reception extended to the MCU delegation and the monks of Chung Tai Chan Monastery. The visit took place from January 5 to 7, 2025.<\/div>\n

Venerable Master Jian Hui, along with Venerable Master Jian Chen, Venerable Master Jian Qiu, Venerable Master Jian Mian, Venerable Master Jian Jin, and the management team of Chung Tai Chan Monastery, expressed their interest in the historical development and flourishing of Therav\u0101da, Mah\u0101y\u0101na, and Vajray\u0101na Buddhism, as well as Hindu-Brahmin traditions in Southeast Asia from the past to the present.<\/div>\n

Since the establishment of their relationship through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed on November 29, 2022, MCU and Chung Tai Chan Monastery have collaborated on promoting Buddhist education, propagation, and the preservation of Buddhism.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The cultural and historical study program of Buddhism in Southeast Asia, organized by Dhammaduta College and the International Relations Division in collaboration with Chung Tai Chan Monastery, Bangkok, was conducted from January 3 to 4, 2025, at Phimai Historical Park and Phanom Rung Historical Park in Thailand, and from January 5 to 7, 2025, at Angkor Wat, Angkor Thom, Banteay Srei, Preah Khan, Baphuon, Ta Prohm, and Phnom Bakheng in Cambodia.<\/div>\n
