On Monday, January 13, 2025, at 1:13 PM, H.E. Mr. Nagesh Singh, Ambassador of India to the Kingdom of Thailand, warmly welcomed Venerable Phramaha Surasak Paccantaseno, Vice-Rector for Foreign Affairs and Director of the Bharat Studies Center at Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University (MCU), along with his delegation. The meeting took place in the reception room of the Embassy of India, Sukhumvit 23, Bangkok.<\/div>\n

On this occasion, Venerable Phramaha Surasak Paccantaseno expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Ambassador for facilitating a five-year Indian visa for him. He also apprised the Ambassador of the inauguration ceremony of the Bharat Studies Center at MCU, scheduled for March 20, 2025, and discussed scholarship initiatives to support MCU personnel and students in pursuing further education at universities in India.<\/div>\n

Mr. Nagesh Singh conveyed his appreciation to Venerable Phramaha Surasak Paccantaseno for accepting the invitation to serve as a distinguished guest speaker for an English lecture at the main auditorium of Silpakorn University, Wang Tha Phra Campus, Bangkok, on January 16, 2025. He also expressed gratitude for the Vice-Rector\u2019s leadership in co-hosting the upcoming international conference, \u201cSamvad IV: Global Hindu-Buddhist Initiative for Conflict Avoidance and Environment Consciousness \u2013 The Century of Dhamma: Call for Universal Responsibility and Interdependent Sustainability,\u201d to be held from February 14\u201317, 2025, at the United Nations Headquarters in Bangkok.<\/div>\n

Furthermore, the Ambassador pledged his continued support for the Bharat Studies Center at MCU, emphasizing its mission to advance education in Buddhism, philosophy, Pali, and Sanskrit. Additionally, he graciously accepted an invitation to deliver a special keynote address on \u201cThe Role of Dhammaduta in Promoting Buddhism in Southeast Asia: From India to Thailand\u201d during the training of the 31st cohort of Dhammaduta monks on March 20, 2025.<\/div>\n

Accompanying Venerable Phramaha Surasak Paccantaseno on this visit were Assistant Professor Dr. Bunmee Phansa, Assistant to the Vice-Rector for Foreign Affairs; Venerable Phra Khru Sutrattanabandit, Director of the Dhammaduta College; Venerable Phramaha Kosol Therapanyo, Director of the International Relations Division; Venerable Phramaha Wichian Sutheero, Director of the Office of the Dhammaduta College; Venerable Phramaha Sakchai Kowito, Director of the Academic Office of the Dhammaduta College; and Venerable Phra Khru Baidika Namo Suchivo, General Administrative Officer of the International Relations Division. Mr. Likhit Bunlakorn, an education officer from the International Relations Division, also joined the delegation.<\/div>\n
