The Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre, Embassy of India, Bangkok celebrated “International Vesak Day” at the SVCC premises on 16 May 2026.

On this occasion, Ms. Paulomi Tripathi, Deputy Chief of Mission, Embassy of India, Bangkok delivered the opening remarks and highlighted the significance of ‘Vesak Day’ and the timeless teachings of Lord Buddha.

The event featured an insightful talk by distinguished speaker Phra Natthapat Kiccakaro, Lecturer of Dhammaduta College, Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University (MCU), Ayutthaya on the topic “Relevance and Significance of Vesak Day.”

Adding grace to the celebration, artists of ‘Soundarya Natya Kalalaya Foundation’ — Mrs. Suhasini Vaddi, Ms. Saadhvika Kalyan, Ms. Veda Iyer, and Ms. Jenell Dihora presented a captivating Bharatanatyam dance performance based on the story of “Angulimal and Buddha”.

The celebration was attended by Monks from MCU, Ayutthaya, distinguished guests, members of the Indian diaspora and around 100 enthusiastic participants.
